Curry Puff - Spiral Savoury Snacks
Recipe:
1 cup of beef cubed - ground beef
1/2 cup of potatoes - boiled but not all the way through
Indian curry leaves
curry powder
diced onion
seasonings to taste
Saute the ingredients above in 3 tbsp of oil until fragrant. Cool on a plate for use to fill the pastry below.
Pastry:
2 mixing bowls - one for the butter dough and the other for the egg yolk mixture
In one mixing bowl, add 2 cups of sifted flour. Add 2 sticks of butter. Cut up the butter in the flour and make into a dough.
In another mixing bowl, add 3 cups of sifter flour. Add 6 egg yolks. Add 2 tbsp of cold water, a pinch of salt and make into a dough.
Method:
Roll out the egg yolk dough into 2 cm thick. Put the butter dough in the center and cover up with the rest of the egg yolk dough. Roll it into a square. Fold in the sides - like 3 panels. Two panels from the sides over each other into the center i.e. 3 panels. Fold in the other sides and roll out into a square. Roll the edge like a swiss roll. cut 2 cm thick slices on the swiss roll. Roll out each slide into a round pancake like. Fill a tbsp of curry beef and pinch the sides. Fry in medium heat each side for 2 mins.
